Aurora Labs today announced a $75 million Series C led by Horizon Capital and the general availability of Aurora Edge, an on-device language model designed for sub-2GB footprint deployment on mobile and smart devices.
Aurora Edge emphasizes privacy and latency: it processes user queries locally, supports encrypted model updates, and offers differential privacy options. Aurora also released a developer toolkit with bindings for Android, iOS, and embedded Linux.
The company plans to use the new capital to expand hardware partnerships, invest in model compression techniques, and launch an enterprise suite that includes governance and audit tools. Aurora says several consumer app makers and smart home OEMs are piloting the SDK.
