Aurora ML launches ExplainStudio for designers and lands $22M to build human-centered AI tools
AI · 4 min read
Aurora ML’s ExplainStudio is positioned as a bridge between model builders and product designers, offering visualization of model rationale, counterfactual examples, and localized failure cases directly in design mockups. The goal is to let designers test edge cases and tweak prompts or constraints before models reach production.
The Series A was led by Foundry Labs and will be used to expand ExplainStudio’s integrations (Figma, Notion, and internal model platforms) and to bolster privacy-preserving analytics. Aurora ML highlighted features such as example-led testing, where designers can upload specific user scenarios and receive guided model-sensitivity reports.
Early customers include fintech and healthcare product teams that need explainability for regulatory and trust reasons. Aurora ML said it will add collaboration features to create design-driven checklists for ethical AI reviews and developer handoff reports that summarize model trade-offs.
