Aurora XR Launches AR Glasses for Retail with $40M Series A
Tech · 4 min read
Aurora XR emerged from stealth with AR glasses designed for retail associates and shoppers, backed by a $40 million Series A led by Meridian Street Capital.
The device is lightweight, tetherless, and optimized for indoor lighting. Its software overlays contextual product data—inventory, pricing, and personalization—while a companion dashboard provides heatmaps and shopper flow analytics.
Aurora built integrations with POS systems and major inventory platforms, positioning the glasses as both a customer-facing shopping aid and a productivity tool for staff. Retail pilots with three mid-sized chains showed conversion improvements and faster restocking times.
Funding will scale manufacturing, expand SDKs for third-party apps, and support pilots focused on experiential retail. Aurora plans a developer program to encourage commerce and gamified shopping experiences.
