AuroraAI raises $120M to launch real-time code assistant for embedded devices

AuroraAI closed a $120 million Series B led by Vector Ridge Ventures with participation from Hardware Foundry and existing backers. The funding will accelerate development of AuroraEdge, a trimmed transformer that runs on microcontrollers and ARM Cortex-M-class processors while maintaining contextual code generation and verification.

AuroraEdge targets teams building IoT products and industrial control firmware, offering plugins for PlatformIO, Zephyr, and FreeRTOS. Key features announced at today’s press event include offline inference, deterministic code patches, and a safety layer that flags potential real-time violations before deployment.

The startup says the onboard model reduces cloud dependence, aiming to cut firmware iteration times by up to 60% in early trials. AuroraAI’s CEO, Mina Khatri, said the funding will also expand hardware partnerships and open a developer beta next month for selected device classes.
