AWS announces SageMaker Canvas Designer for no-code model fine-tuning

SageMaker Canvas Designer lowers the barrier for non-ML teams to customize models. Using an intuitive web interface, users can upload example pairs, define evaluation metrics, and iterate on small fine-tuning runs without writing code. The service targets use-cases like microcopy generation, content moderation filters, and layout suggestions.

Designer-focused features include visual evaluation dashboards that compare output variations, automatic generation of prompt templates, and A/B test deployment hooks into staging environments. Canvas Designer also provides governance controls for data lineage and model approval workflows.

AWS positions the product as complementary to existing SageMaker services: teams can prototype in Canvas Designer and then transition to production training and deployment pipelines as their needs scale.
