Before/After: How Threadly Reworked Product Pages to Boost Add-to-Cart by 18%
Design · 5 min read
Threadly's original product pages relied heavily on long descriptive blocks and a carousel of similar-looking images. Conversion dropped on mobile where users scrolled past key information and hesitated on size selection. Customer returns for fit issues were also a persistent problem, indicating a mismatch between product presentation and buyer expectations.
The redesign focused on three pillars: photographic clarity, decision scaffolding, and reduced friction. High-fidelity hero images replaced similar-angle photos, a sticky add-to-cart module kept CTAs visible as users scrolled, and an interactive size guide integrated real customer fit notes and model measurements. Microcopy emphasized material and care instructions close to the price and CTA to reduce post-purchase confusion.
After staged rollout, Threadly reported an 18% lift in add-to-cart rate, a 10% drop in size-related returns, and higher Net Promoter Score on post-purchase surveys. The case reinforces that product pages are decision interfaces: prioritize visual clarity, reduce choice burden at the moment of purchase, and use compact, trust-building content near the CTA.
