CableLess unveils satellite-backed 5G hotspot and raises $60M Series A

SkyPort is a battery-powered hotspot that prefers local 5G but automatically routes traffic to low-earth-orbit satellites when needed. CableLess designed an integrated connectivity manager to keep sessions persistent across network changes and to prioritize traffic by application and cost.

CableLess’s $60 million Series A will be used to scale manufacturing, subsidize initial unit rollouts to partner organizations, and expand satellite capacity agreements. Orbit Labs led the round alongside telecom strategic investors who plan to offer SkyPort as part of enterprise field kits.

The company highlighted ruggedized industrial designs and a developer API to control traffic shaping remotely. Early deployments with humanitarian NGOs and field journalists demonstrated dramatic improvements in uptime and predictable bandwidth during large-scale events and natural disasters.
