Canopy AI open-sources UX-Assist: a modular model for design suggestions

UX-Assist is engineered to be modular: separate components handle layout generation, copy alternatives and accessibility checks so teams can adopt only the pieces they need. Canopy AI released pretrained modules and lightweight finetuning scripts to customize behavior for specific product vocabularies and design systems.

The open-source release includes a permissive license and examples for integrating UX-Assist into desktop design apps and web-based editors. Canopy stressed that the modular structure enables better governance by allowing teams to audit and replace individual modules.

Community contributors are already adding language packs and design-system adapters. Canopy hopes the project will accelerate responsible design automation and provide an alternative to opaque, monolithic models.
