Canva adds brand-aware image-to-layout generator
Design · 3 min read
The image-to-layout generator takes an uploaded image and a short brief, then creates multiple layout options — social posts, hero banners, and email headers — that adhere to a user’s brand kit (colors, fonts, logos). Canva emphasized a brand-aware engine: if a kit forbids certain color uses or mandates logo placements, the generator will enforce those rules during composition.
Options are presented as editable templates. Designers can swap images, adjust typography, or switch to alternate compositions generated in the same batch. The feature also offers suggested crop points prioritizing subjects and safe-space margins for different platforms.
Canva added a commercial-use license toggle and an asset provenance panel showing whether generated imagery used stock assets or entirely synthetic content. For teams, admins can enforce brand presets and restrict the use of experimental visual styles.
