Canva adds 'Component Composer' for generative UI elements and adaptive templates

Component Composer lets users type prompts like “create a subscription pricing card that scales for mobile,” and the system returns a component with variable fields and responsive rules. Canva stores generated components in team folders and exposes them via a simple API so developers can pull assets into staging environments.

The feature includes accessibility checks and automated contrast adjustments to reduce manual remediation. Canva emphasized the low-friction onboarding, targeted at teams without design-system engineers, and a library of best-practice templates for onboarding and e-commerce scenarios.

Users noted the convenience and speed, though power users asked for more control over token naming and export cleanliness. Canva said it will add advanced export settings and tighter Figma/Sketch interop in upcoming releases.
