Canva introduces AI-driven BrandKit 2.0 and collaborative Figma import
Design · 4 min read
BrandKit 2.0 adds semantic tokens for type, spacing, and iconography so that brand assets imported into Canva automatically map to reusable design tokens. This makes it easier to maintain visual consistency across social assets, presentations, and quick product mockups.
The new Figma import preserves component variants and exports them as editable Canva templates, allowing marketing teams to adapt product-oriented components without losing variant logic. Canva also introduced collaborative versioning so teams can track changes to brand tokens and rollback when necessary.
Canva’s AI features suggest on-brand color and layout adjustments in real time, and administrators can lock certain tokens to prevent accidental changes. The company is positioning the update as a bridge between product design systems and downstream marketing production.
