Canva launches AI Assist Pro with brand-safe accessible color suggestions

AI Assist Pro parses uploaded brand guidelines and asset libraries to generate templates and image edits that follow a company's visual system. The assistant suggests color palettes that balance brand equity and WCAG contrast requirements, flagging problematic combinations automatically.
Designers can lock brand elements and allow AI Assist to work within those constraints, producing variations for different formats while preserving legal and trademark rules. Canva also added export formats tailored for handoff: code-ready palettes and delta reports showing what changed between versions.
Canva positions the tool as a way for small teams to scale consistent content creation without deep design expertise. Larger organizations see it as a prototyping aid for marketing teams, while some designers caution about overreliance on automated token suggestions for nuanced brand work.
