Canva launches Layout AI to auto-create responsive component systems for campaigns

Layout AI analyzes an uploaded master design and identifies components, typographic scales, and spacing tokens to generate a responsive system. From there, Canva produces platform-specific variations (social, email, banner, and mobile) with consistent brand tokens and aspect-aware cropping.

Canva’s model supports two workflows: an automatic conversion that produces a ready-to-edit component library, and a guided mode where marketers can refine token choices and variant rules. Canva emphasized that the generated components are editable and map back to a token list for design ops handoff.

Canva also added collaboration checkpoints so brand managers can lock select tokens and approve spreads before assets enter production. The feature is aimed at small teams and agencies that need to scale brand-consistent creative quickly across many channels.
