Canva launches Motion Scribe with text-to-motion design and fine-tuning

Motion Scribe lets designers type short instructions like 'subtle bounce for success toast' or 'slide-and-fade modal entrance' and receive multiple animated variants with editable curves and timing. Outputs are exportable as Lottie, MP4, or as composable motion tokens for design systems.

The fine-tuning feature lets teams upload examples of their brand motion — easing the creation of consistent, on-brand animations across assets. Motion Scribe also integrates with Canva's component library so designers can apply a motion preset across hundreds of templates with one click.

Canva positioned the tool for marketers, product designers, and small teams who need production-ready motion without a motion designer. The company promises ongoing model improvements informed by collective user feedback and offers governance controls for enterprise accounts.
