Canva's Canvas Copilot expands to vector-to-prototype flows and component extraction

Canva expanded its Canvas Copilot with a suite of production features that help convert flat vector designs into interactive prototypes and reusable components. Designers can now select a portion of a layout and extract interactive elements with states, transitions, and export-ready SVGs for web and mobile.
The update includes an 'extract components' flow that recognizes buttons, form fields, and navigation patterns, then produces a component library with naming conventions and default interactions. The Copilot can also scaffold simple responsive rules to help teams push designs into staging quickly.
Canva emphasized the tool for marketing teams and smaller product shops that need to move from visual assets to functional prototypes without a heavy engineering handoff. The feature will roll out to Canva Pro users next week and to enterprise plans later in the quarter.
