Canva's Smart Brand Kit gets an LLM backbone for brand-safe automated assets

The Smart Brand Kit uses a model that ingests brand colors, typography, tone-of-voice notes, and logo usage rules to produce marketing templates and social assets that adhere to brand standards. Teams can prompt it for format-specific variants (Instagram story, email header, billboard) that automatically apply tokenized styles.
Canva added a governance layer that flags brand violations and suggests corrections if a generated asset deviates from guidelines. The feature also outputs a change log showing which rules were applied, helping compliance and legal teams audit autogenerated materials.
Small businesses and agencies reported significant time savings when producing multi-format campaigns, though some marketers still prefer manual adjustments for high-stakes creative. Canva said the LLM runs on a hybrid inference stack with enterprise customers able to keep assets on private instances.
