CanvasXR debuts 'Spatial Canvas' for collaborative AR prototyping, nets $40M Series A
Design · 5 min read
Spatial Canvas provides designers with a shared workspace where 3D UI components, interactions and micro-interactions can be authored and tested in situ. The tool supports live annotations, session recording, and playback for stakeholder reviews, aiming to eliminate the back-and-forth of static mockups.
Accel led the $40 million round, joined by Atomico and existing seed investors. CanvasXR says the money will fund performance optimization, device-compatibility layers and SDKs for Unity and web-based AR platforms.
CanvasXR also announced integration with user-research platforms so teams can recruit participants to test spatial prototypes remotely. The company highlighted enterprise use cases — retail layout testing, in-field industrial training, and location-based entertainment — and plans a private beta for customers this quarter.
