Cinder Labs Raises $95M to Commercialize Foundation Models for Creative Video Editing
AI · 7 min read
Cinder Labs announced a $95 million Series B to develop foundation models that assist professional video editors with creative tasks like scene selection, pacing analysis, and stylistic color grading. The company also launched ClipCraft, a SaaS editor plugin that integrates with NLEs and automates repetitive tasks.
ClipCraft uses multimodal models trained on licensed footage and editorial patterns to generate edit suggestions, generate draft cuts for review, and propose alternative pacing for different target runtimes. The company highlights controls for editorial voice and rights management for training data.
With the new funding, Cinder Labs will expand GPU infrastructure and build partnerships with post-production houses and stock footage providers. The company plans to offer on-premises deployments for studios worried about IP exposure during the editing process.
