ClearSight raises $65M to commercialize privacy-first visual search and releases LensBox

LensBox is an on-premise appliance designed for retailers and venues to provide visual search, lost-and-found matching, and inventory recognition without sending images to the cloud. ClearSight’s tech extracts encrypted descriptors that can be matched against curated catalogs, preserving customer privacy while enabling useful search workflows.
The $65 million round, led by Evergreen Partners, will accelerate deployments across retail pilots and shopping centers and expand integrations with POS and inventory systems. ClearSight emphasized that LensBox supports encrypted federation for multi-site retailers to share catalogs without exposing raw visual data.
Pilot customers reported improved in-store search conversion and faster lost-item recovery while maintaining compliance with regional privacy laws. ClearSight said privacy-first design was central to adoption, particularly in regulated markets.
