Clipdrop launches Instant Mockup: phone-to-prototype capture with model-based layout alignment
Tech · 4 min read
Instant Mockup automatically detects screen edges, straightens perspective, and parses content into editable layers such as headers, lists, and buttons. Beyond simple OCR, the model predicts probable component types and suggests grouping and hierarchy so designers can import results directly into Figma or Sketch.
Clipdrop stresses that Instant Mockup is optimized for on-device privacy: the capture step can be performed locally, with optional cloud refinement for detail-heavy conversions. The product includes a provenance layer so teams can trace which parts of a conversion were auto-detected and which were user-validated.
The company is targeting product teams that frequently digitize whiteboard sessions or usability notes, and it offers enterprise features like folder-level policies, SSO, and integration with Miro and Notion to make captured prototypes first-class artifacts in product workflows.
