CloudWeave raises $200M to launch 'WeaveDB' - a serverless vector database for AI apps

CloudWeave announced WeaveDB, a serverless, horizontally scalable vector database with integrated retrieval and similarity search for text, image, and audio embeddings. WeaveDB includes built-in ranking, filtering, and privacy controls aimed at enterprise AI applications.

The $200 million financing round will fund global data plane expansion and advanced features such as encrypted search and real-time ingestion pipelines. CloudWeave positions WeaveDB as the backbone for search, recommendation, and memory stores in AI-driven products.

WeaveDB also ships with connectors for popular model providers and a hosted console for observability, cost management, and embedding lifecycle tracking. Early enterprise adopters cited simplified architecture and lower latency for production AI workloads.
