Cobalt Labs launches 'Persona Engine' for AI-assisted user research, raises $5M seed
Design · 3 min read
Cobalt Labs' Persona Engine synthesizes survey responses, session heatmaps, and product telemetry into research-backed personas complete with goals, pain points, and recommended UX patterns. The engine allows teams to iterate personas as new data arrives and links personas directly to product features.
The $5 million seed will be used to build integrations with research tools, improve natural language summaries, and add collaborative features for ethnographic teams. Cobalt Labs highlighted the need for scalable persona maintenance in fast-moving product organizations.
Design managers using the engine reported faster alignment in discovery workshops and fewer mismatches between target users and feature prioritization. The company plans to add exportable artifacts that feed directly into design and PRD templates.
