Contour Health’s new CareKit Designer is a component library and design system that helps teams create HIPAA-aware, accessible healthcare apps. Components include validated consent flows, medication schedules, and questionnaires optimized for older adults.
The $20 million funding round, led by WellSpring Ventures, will be used to develop industry-specific templates, integrate longitudinal patient outcome tracking, and add clinician review workflows. The startup aims to reduce the time required to bring compliant healthcare UX to market.
CareKit Designer includes test suites for WCAG compliance and a preview mode that simulates low-vision, motor impairment, and cognitive load scenarios. Contour is collaborating with hospitals and clinical researchers to validate components in real-world contexts.
The startup also announced enterprise features—role-based access, audit logs, and patient data redaction—for regulated customers. Contour believes domain-specific design systems will improve both speed and safety for healthcare product teams.
