Design system startup Layered secures $15M seed to launch a distributed runtime for UI components

Layered, a design-ops startup, announced a $15 million seed round led by Neon River Ventures to commercialize Layered Runtime, a distributed system for shipping consistent UI components across web, mobile, and desktop. The startup says the runtime reduces drift between design tokens and shipped components.
The product integrates with Figma and popular frameworks via small adapters, allowing designers to publish component updates that flow through a gated release pipeline into prod. Layered emphasizes observability, offering dashboards that highlight version discrepancies and accessibility regressions across apps.
Founders note the seed will fund hiring across engineering, design, and developer relations to support enterprise pilots already underway. Early adopters include fintech and healthtech companies that want centralized governance of brand and accessibility standards while keeping teams autonomous.
