Design-driven indie SaaS PrismaType raises $1.2M seed to reimagine typographic systems

PrismaType, founded by former type designer Anika Rao and ex-Stripe product designer Miguel Cortez, announced a $1.2M seed round led by a11y Capital. The startup provides an online engine that generates fluid, accessible typographic scales and exports them as CSS variables, tokens, or Figma libraries.
The product automates responsive scaling, line-height math, and contrast checks while integrating with design systems. Customers can create brand-specific scales and preview them across simulated device sizes, reducing manual work designers typically do when building scalable type systems.
PrismaType’s roadmap includes a VS Code extension for dev workflows and a plugin that syncs tokens bi-directionally with popular design tools. The company plans a freemium model with team plans aimed at design-led startups.
