EchoDrive announced a $22 million Series A to build team-oriented knowledge agents that prioritize local-first indexing. The agents run inside secure customer environments, creating embeddings and retrieval layers without sending raw documents to third-party cloud services.

EchoDrive’s product combines a small on-prem model for retrieval-augmented generation with connectors for common enterprise storage—SharePoint, Confluence, and private Git. The startup emphasizes compliance features: document provenance, redact-on-delete, and consent-based sharing controls.

The fresh capital will expand enterprise integrations and accelerate a hybrid mode that offloads heavy inference to provable hardware enclaves when needed. Early customers include legal and HR teams seeking conversational interfaces over internal knowledge banks.
