EchoForge Raises $60M to Launch Cloud-Native FPS Engine 'Bolt' With AI-Powered Level Tools
Gaming · 6 min read
Bolt is designed from the ground up for cloud hosting with per-instance scalability and low-latency networking. EchoForge bundles an AI-assisted level editor that can populate maps with mission-critical objects, NPCs and cover placement based on designer constraints.
The level tools are the headline: creators can type high-level scene descriptions and Bolt generates candidate maps that retain hand-authored flow. Designers can iterate visually while the engine simulates balance and spawn logic in parallel. EchoForge claims this removes days of iterative balancing work.
The $60 million from Summit Ridge and Redpoint-backed partners will build global server footprint and fund partnerships with middleware vendors. Bolt is entering closed beta with four mid-size studios and plans broader availability early next year.
