EchoGrid raises $15M to launch social VR city 'EchoTown' in closed beta

EchoTown presents a persistent social space where creators can rent virtual storefronts, host events, and run mini-economies. The platform emphasizes low-friction content creation tools so musicians, DJs, and gallery owners can build venues without coding.

EchoGrid raised $15 million in Series A funding led by Meridian Creative with participation from several creator-centric funds. The capital will finance server scaling, moderation tooling, and a creator revenue split model to incentivize neighborhood growth.

EchoGrid's technology centers on a deterministic streaming engine for zone handoffs to keep latency low in city-scale spaces. They are also rolling out an avatar system with modular expressivity aimed at live performance fidelity.

The closed beta is invite-only and focused on performance and monetization mechanics; EchoGrid plans a public launch in late 2026 after expanding safety tools and commerce features for creators.
