EchoGrid Raises $22M and Launches Cross-Play Matchmaking Middleware for Indies
Gaming ยท 3 min read
EchoGrid's middleware abstracts platform-specific matchmaking APIs behind a unified SDK, providing session persistence, player grouping, and anti-cheat hooks. It also offers adaptive skill-based matching and live-ops hooks so developers can run tournaments and staggered rollouts without custom backend infrastructure.
The funding round was led by PlayScale Ventures and will finance scaling of global matchmaking servers, anti-abuse systems, and expanded SDK support for consoles. EchoGrid says the product is priced for smaller studios and includes a free tier for limited usage.
Several indie developers participating in the beta reported faster launches and fewer cross-platform bugs. EchoGrid plans to add analytics dashboards and a self-serve tournament builder aimed at community-driven events and esports discovery for emerging titles.
