EchoPixel raises $7M to launch spatial audio tool for mixed-reality theater

EchoPixel's EchoStage is a composer tool that lets directors and sound designers place audio sources in a mixed-reality stage, preview spatialization using headsets or binaural monitors, and sync audio cues with AR visuals across multiple performers. The tool supports timecode, networked playback, and real-time audience personalization.
The startup secured $7 million in seed funding from ArtsTech Ventures and several cultural foundations to develop theater-optimized features and expand partnerships with performing arts institutions. Funding will also go toward low-latency audio networking and integration with immersive lighting rigs.
Early theater collaborators used EchoStage to prototype mixed-reality productions where physical performers and AR overlays share audio space, reporting improved audience immersion and simpler coordination between sound and XR teams.
