EchoPlay Launches 'Spectator Mode' for Live Cloud Gaming; Raises $22M

EchoPlay, a cloud-gaming streaming startup, released Spectator Mode, allowing broadcasters to pull synchronized camera feeds from players’ local setups into tournament streams with millisecond-level alignment.

The product addresses a common esports pain point: maintaining sync between in-game action and player cameras during high-framerate games. EchoPlay pairs the feature with cloud replay stitching and low-latency overlays.

To scale the offering, EchoPlay closed a $22 million round led by Broadcast Capital and announced partnerships with three major tournament organizers for the upcoming season.

For UX and broadcast designers, Spectator Mode opens opportunities to craft new viewing experiences, such as dynamic picture-in-picture layouts and real-time perspective switches driven by editorial rules and viewer engagement metrics.
