EchoPlay Raises $30M to Scale Live-Service Narrative Games Studio
Gaming · 4 min read
EchoPlay’s vision centers on narrative ecosystems where player choices impact long-term story arcs and transmedia content. The funding will expand the studio’s writing teams, cloud infrastructure for live updates, and tooling that allows writers to push branching content with minimal engineering overhead.
Investors were attracted to EchoPlay’s hybrid monetization model, which blends episodic purchase paths with optional live-service seasons and cosmetic shops. The studio emphasized privacy-first analytics to inform narrative iteration without intrusive tracking.
EchoPlay said the money will also fund licensing talks for original IP expansions into podcasts and interactive video. The studio plans to launch a closed alpha of its flagship title to backers later this year and expand hiring for community and live-ops roles.
