EchoPlay’s hardware resembles a compact controller with a 6.8-inch OLED display and onboard Wi‑Fi 7, designed to stream console and PC games from cloud servers. The company emphasizes input predictability and adaptive bitrate algorithms to reduce perceived latency for competitive play.
The $15 million round was co-led by PlayVentures and Velocity Ventures, aimed at expanding EchoPlay’s server footprint in North America and Europe and improving edge optimization. EchoPlay also announced partnerships with two independent studios for exclusive indie content bundles.
Beta testers report solid visual fidelity but note occasional frame pacing hiccups in congested networks—issues the company says will be addressed with upcoming firmware and server-side optimizations. EchoPlay plans a limited retail launch later this year.
