EchoSense raises $12M to commercialize wearable haptics for VR designers

EchoSense is building lightweight, modular haptic modules that designers wear to feel textures and forces during spatial prototyping sessions. The company raised $12 million led by Lighthouse Ventures to ramp production and ship developer kits to studios and universities.

The haptics system pairs with major engines, offering APIs that map material properties to actuator arrays. EchoSense emphasizes low-latency syncing and comfort, touting a battery life and modular form factor suited for multi-hour design sessions.

EchoSense plans pilot programs with industrial design schools and XR studios, and is building plugins for common 3D tools so designers can preview haptic feedback in their native workflows. The company expects hardware-software bundles to be central to its revenue model.
