EchoTone raises $11M to introduce adaptive audio engine for games

EchoTone announced an $11 million seed round and the release of EchoAudio, an audio middleware that adapts music, Foley, and spatial audio mixes based on gameplay context and player actions. The engine provides automated ducking, thematic layering, and memory-aware streaming to manage audio budgets on constrained platforms.
EchoAudio integrates with common game engines and includes a visual curve editor for audio designers to specify policy rules, crossfades, and priority bands. The middleware also supports adaptive occlusion and low-latency reverb updates for dynamic environments.
Funding will be used to expand platform support, build an online library of adaptive patterns, and hire audio engineers to develop best-practice presets for different genres. Early adopters reported fewer manual mix passes and more consistent audio behavior during complex scenes.
Audio directors noted that EchoAudio helps non-audio designers prototype immersive soundscapes faster while keeping control over artistic intent. EchoTone plans subscription tiers with per-project licensing and a custom services arm for bespoke audio integration.
