Epic Games pledges $500M to build cloud-native Unreal Studio for creators

Epic Games today revealed a $500 million commitment to accelerate Unreal Studio, its initiative to provide cloud-based real-time creation tools and collaboration services for studios and individual creators. The investment will fund global render farms, content marketplaces, and tooling to streamline production pipelines.
Epic is emphasizing interoperability, building connectors for major DCCs, and supporting direct export to game engines, film pipelines, and AR/VR experiences. Part of the capital will subsidize creator grants and partnerships with training programs to broaden the pool of Unreal-skilled artists.
Epic frames the push as an attempt to lower the friction of creating real-time content at scale, enabling smaller teams to access infrastructure once only available to large studios. The company expects the investments to pay dividends via marketplace revenues and tighter ecosystem lock-in.
