Epic releases BlueprintGen plugin that converts UX flows into Unreal Blueprints

BlueprintGen parses annotated UX flows — states, transitions, triggers — and maps them to Unreal Blueprint nodes with event wiring, timers, and conditional branches. The conversion process tries to maintain fidelity to the original prototype's logic while producing readable and editable Blueprints for the game team.

Designers can annotate actions like 'open inventory' or 'start cutscene' and BlueprintGen will scaffold the corresponding Blueprint graphs, including stubbed functions for art and audio hooks. The plugin supports iterative updates: when flows change in the prototype, BlueprintGen can merge diffs into existing Blueprints while preserving manual developer edits.

Epic positioned the tool as an efficiency boost for designers and scripters, lowering the barrier to playtesting UX in-engine. Security and IP protections are included for teams using shared cloud storage during the conversion process.
