Figma 2026: live AI component assistants, code export, and shared prompts

The new Figma release embeds elastic 'component assistants' that live inside components and respond to contextual queries like 'generate alt text for this icon' or 'produce a compact variant for 320px width'. Assistants can be scoped to team libraries to respect tokens and brand rules.

One-click code export now supports React, Angular, Svelte, SwiftUI, and Flutter with mapping for design tokens and variants. Figma says exported code preserves auto-layout constraints and uses stylistic tokens rather than hard-coded values, improving handoff quality.

Figma also launched a shared prompt library where design systems curators can publish vetted prompts to ensure consistent AI outputs across large teams. Early adopters reported significant reductions in repetitive tasks such as generating responsive variants and annotating components for developers.
