Figma announced a refreshed tokens kit that embeds contrast heuristics and role-aware recommendations directly into the token editor. Designers can now tag tokens by UI role (e.g., primary text, disabled border, focus ring) and see live contrast scores against likely background combinations, reducing guesswork when defining brand palettes.

Beyond raw contrast, the kit surfaces contextual tips—like suggesting emphasis variants for low-contrast brand colors and proposing accessible alt tokens for use in small text and iconography. Teams can export annotated token sets that call out where developer overrides are required to meet accessibility thresholds.
