Figma 2026.3 introduces Vector AI and multi-variant auto-layout

Figma 2026.3 ships with Vector AI, an integrated vector-simplification and path-repair assistant that helps clean up hand-drawn SVGs and exported icon sets. The assistant proposes fewer nodes, smoother curves, and accessible stroke adjustments while keeping the original intent intact.

The other headline is multi-variant auto-layout, which lets designers define multiple responsive variants for a single component and preview breakpoints across device families. The system uses constraints and example frames to interpolate intermediate layouts rather than forcing rigid rules.

Figma also improved its plugin API to allow heavier on-device computation through a secure worker sandbox, enabling plugins that previously needed cloud processing. The update aims to bring automation into everyday workflows without sacrificing version control or handoffs.
