The improved AI Assistant reads frames, layers, and constraints and then outputs interaction specs such as triggered states, animation easing curves, and accessibility notes. Designers can feed a brief like 'checkout flow with saved card' and receive a full storyboard with annotated hotspots, expected micro-interactions, and edge-case flows. The assistant also suggests animation durations tuned to platform conventions and supports localization-aware timing notes.

Crucially for handoff, the assistant can generate acceptance test cases that tie to Storybook stories or end-to-end tests (Cypress/Playwright). Teams can export these cases alongside design artifacts, which helps align QA, designers, and engineers early in the process. Figma also added a review mode that allows collaborators to accept or modify AI-suggested specs before they become part of the document.

Privacy and auditability are emphasized: organizations on Figma Enterprise can lock AI suggestions behind internal usage policies and maintain logs of AI-generated changes. Product teams we spoke with see the assistant as a force-multiplier for mid-size squads, especially when onboarding new PMs or engineers who benefit from richer design context without relying on tribal knowledge.
