Figma integrates 'Smart Layout Assistant' powered by Anthropic Claude-Design

Figma's latest update tightens the loop between rapid layout adjustments and systemized components by embedding a Smart Layout Assistant. The assistant is powered by Anthropic's Claude-Design, a model trained specifically on UI layout rules and responsive constraints.
Designers can select a frame and receive multiple adjustment proposals that preserve hierarchy, spacing tokens, and accessibility minima. The assistant also offers annotated diffs so teams can accept auto-suggestions while retaining version control and componentization.
Figma emphasized that the tool is opt-in and keeps user files private; edits are proposed as separate branches and require explicit acceptance before they alter master components. The company plans to roll out collaborative suggestions in the coming months so multiple team members can vote on auto-generated layout changes.
