Figma introduces AutoFlow, an AI layout engine that adapts designs to any screen
Design · 4 min read
Figma AutoFlow is an AI-driven layout assistant that analyzes a base composition and generates responsive versions for mobile, tablet, and wide desktop, preserving hierarchy and spacing logic. Designers provide a few examples and AutoFlow extrapolates consistent constraints, component resizing rules, and content priority.
AutoFlow also includes a content-aware constraint system that anticipates text wrapping and image crop behaviors, generating test cases for edge cases like long strings and translated copy. The system exports constraint metadata that feeds into React and SwiftUI code generators to reduce platform friction.
Figma rolled AutoFlow out as an opt-in feature to professional and organization plans, along with a collection of audit tools to surface accessibility regressions introduced during auto-reflows. The company highlighted collaboration workflows where AutoFlow proposals are versioned and reviewable.
