Figma introduces FigAI—contextual design assistant with prompt history and undoable suggestions
AI · 4 min read
FigAI was upgraded to provide contextual suggestions that analyze a file’s components, tokens, and constraints before proposing alterations. Each suggestion is recorded in a prompt history panel so designers can revisit and refine previous requests.
A key change is that FigAI’s edits are generated as standard Figma layers and frames with full undo/redo support, avoiding opaque generation blobs. Designers can accept, tweak, or revert changes like any other edit.
Figma added admin controls for FigAI usage—teams can restrict model access, require approval flows for exported assets, and retain logs for auditing. The company also published guidance on designing with AI assistants to avoid pattern collapse in component libraries.
