Figma introduces Generative Component Studio with private model support

Generative Component Studio integrates a model layer into Figma components so designers can define variant generation rules, token constraints, and visual anchors. Teams can choose Figma-hosted inference or connect to private LLM endpoints via enterprise plugin, ensuring sinewy design governance for proprietary UI systems.

Studio includes a visual prompt builder, reproducibility controls, and a component history that records generation seeds and input constraints. Designers can now generate variant states like "compact, high-contrast, Dutch locale" and export deterministic builds for dev handoff.

Early adopters praised the modeling of responsive behavior and the export hooks to design systems, while others asked for stronger CI-style checks to avoid token drift in large component libraries. Figma said it will roll out analytics and automated linting for generated components later this quarter.
