Figma introduces Live Components 2.0 with AI-driven layout suggestions
Design · 4 min read
Figma rolled out Live Components 2.0, an update that layers AI-driven layout suggestions on top of existing component instances. Designers can now select a component and request layout variants that adapt to different breakpoints, content densities, and localization scenarios.
The engine analyzes surrounding frames and suggests edge-to-edge constraints, spacing systems, and size variants. Generated variants are editable and come annotated with explanation cards that describe why a given variant was recommended, helping teams teach the model their conventions.
Figma also introduced a new sync protocol for component libraries so teams can serve AI-trained style profiles to the model. That means company-specific spacing scales and token palettes influence the suggestions, improving consistency across projects.
