Figma introduces Live Components 2.0 with LLM-powered variant suggestions
Design · 5 min read
Figma announced Live Components 2.0, a refresh that embeds an on-device model to analyze component usage patterns and suggest variants, responsive behaviors, and accessibility attributes. The feature surfaces suggestion cards inside the inspector and can auto-generate ARIA labels, contrast fixes, and state-specific copy.
Designers can opt to accept or reject suggestions and fine-tune the underlying rules, which are stored in the team's design system. Figma emphasized privacy: the assistant runs locally when possible and supports enterprise cloud governance for shared teams.
Plugins and third-party tools can tap the Live Components API to extend suggestion logic to animation presets, interaction patterns, or cross-platform token mapping. Early reports indicate teams shave hours off handoff and accessibility review cycles.
