Figma launches FigGPT, a contextual AI assistant embedded across the editor

FigGPT sits in the right-hand panel and can generate UI components from prompts, propose responsive variations, and draft UI copy matched to tone and locale. Because it's workspace-aware, FigGPT can reference a team's design tokens and component library to keep suggestions consistent with brand rules.

Figma emphasized privacy controls: teams can toggle whether FigGPT learns from their files, and an enterprise mode keeps all inference on customer-owned private cloud runtimes. Output comes annotated with provenance and confidence scores so designers can evaluate suggestions quickly.

Designers welcomed faster iteration for placeholder screens and localization-ready copy, while design system maintainers appreciated that FigGPT respects token constraints. Figma said the feature will roll out in phases for free and paid tiers with enterprise-only privacy options.
