Figma launches Figma Assist: on-canvas AI for layout, copy and accessibility

Figma Assist appears directly in the design surface and can propose spacing fixes, hierarchy adjustments and componentization suggestions based on recognized patterns. Designers can accept one-click changes or iterate—Assist provides a changelog so teams can review what the assistant altered.

The tool also generates accessible copy and alt-text, and it can annotate components with recommended ARIA roles and keyboard interactions. Figma says Assist aims to reduce friction in early-stage prototyping and speed accessibility compliance checks before handoff to engineering.

Figma is shipping Assist with admin controls and privacy options: organizations can restrict whether designs are used to improve models and can choose on-prem or tenant-isolated hosting for the assistant in enterprise plans.
