Figma launches Figma Brain: a plugin-first AI platform for automating design systems

Figma Brain is built as an extensible orchestration layer that lets plugins call shared AI capabilities — semantic naming, accessibility checking, and responsive auto-layout suggestions — without each plugin bundling its own model. This reduces redundancy and improves consistency across third-party tools in the Figma ecosystem.

The platform ships with curated automations: automatic token extraction from designs, cross-file variant syncing, and component-dependency graphs that highlight stale or orphaned elements. Teams can chain triggers (e.g., on-save audits) and conditionals so certain AI-driven transformations require sign-off before being applied.

Plugin developers get access to a new SDK with rate-limited model calls, theme scoping, and preference APIs so each workspace can enforce style guides.
